Jennifer Lieberman
Owner
Jennifer is a Miami native and grew up loving the ocean, beach, fishing, and boating. She moved to LA after college. Although she had worked in real estate, model management, and art dealing, Jennifer found that owning a restaurant and a brewery can fulfill many of her passions under one roof.
For Jennifer, starting her own business was very much a multi-project endeavor. She built a family through her staff, created a living piece of art through her taproom designs, and structured the finances to run successful businesses.
The vision of Surfridge Brewing Co. really comes from the earth, water, and color pallet of what she loves most – the ocean.
Steven Lieberman
Owner
Steve began his restaurant career in Long Island, NY as a bar-back in 1993. He worked his way through college bartending in New York. After college, he made his way to Los Angeles by way of managing restaurants in New Orleans and San Francisco. It’s in LA where he started planning to open a place of his own.
In 2009, Steve and his wife, Jennifer, opened West 4th Jane – a craft beer gastropub in Santa Monica, California. Craft beer had always been a passion for Steve and the curated beer list at West 4th Jane reflected his enthusiasm for rare and exciting brews.
In 2014, Steve and Jennifer decided to open their own brewery and are very happy to see their vision come to fruition at Surfridge. Opening the California location in 2019 and Connecticut in 2021, Steve and Jen are truly extending their family one beer at a time.
